Tanya Morgan – “We Rollin”

“It’s about the road life, and some of the perks and indulgences that come with it,” says Von Pea about the Brizzo-produced song, which was inspired by real events and experiences from past tours. With lyrics like, “And if you see me in your city then take off work/ You got a pretty pair of t——s then take off shirt,” the unapologetic and funky jam transports the listener to a post-show party, where Tanya Morgan is found wading in a baby pool full of rumbling piano bass lines, handclaps, and supreme DJ cuts, compliments of DJ Low Key.

TRUTHLiVE x Von Pea – “Remind, Rewind”

TRUTHLiVE drops the latest single off his album Patience, titled “Rewind, Rewind” featuring Von Pea and produced by Jake One.  Patience is in stores and on iTunes now.

“‘Remind Rewind’ is a reflective homage to hip-hop, primarily focused on my deep appreciation for the art of emceeing, and its profound impact on me as a kid/young adult… It is also a track about the emergence of a new generation of emcee’s carrying on the tradition.” – TRUTHLiVE

Do The Knowledge Mixtape Vol. 1

New old shit from DJ J-Live – Do The Knowledge Mixtape” Vol. 1 (The Late Pass) The Best of 2009 Hip-Hop.

Basically, I got tired of hearing a lot of people say stuff like, “there’s nothing new out” or “hip hop is wack now”. Upon hearing this I usually run down a list of names of new artists and even old artists with new albums and ask if they’ve heard of’em. Nope! These people have no idea. There’s a lot of good new hip hop. You just have to do the knowledge and keep your ears open. These are some of my favorites from 2009 alone. Enjoy! – DJ J-Live
