Optimist: The Bay To Taipei

FreeGoldWatch presents “The Bay to Taipei.” new painting and mixed media works by Optimist, opening April 16th.

An Oakland native, Optimist’s work can be seen on the streets of the U.S. and abroad. This collection focuses on the contrasting visual landscapes of Taipei and the Bay Area, as well as the social, cultural, and geographical effects of Westernization on Taiwan. This will be his first time exhibiting a body of work in a gallery setting. There will be a limited edition zine available at the opening. Reception 7–11:00pm – safelyhome

Brand new video from Don John DaVinci for the lead single “What You Finna Do” produced by Al Jieh.  This is probably my favorite track on the album in it DaVinci speaks on the gentrification of the Fillmore District in San Francisco, CA.  An issue that everyone in a urban neighbourhood in a major city can relate to.
