DaVinci – “Idle Mind” Studio Footage

Vodpod videos no longer available.

DaVinci speaks on his inspiration and meaning behind the song “Idle Mind” off of his debut album The Day The Turf Stood Still, available now.

DaVinci gives us further insight into the man behind the lyrics. “Some people when they get into rap, their craft, they start turning it into a job. That’s what we don’t want. We want to keep this shit fun from the beginning to the end.” says DaVinci. The emcee goes on to give us some background on one of the album’s undeniable bangers, “Idle Mind.” “My momma used to tell me an idle mind is the devils workshop – go do something. Get out of the house. I just wanted to just point that out to everybody and give a whole bunch of instances where in my life I had a higher mind” explains DaVinci. “Everybody come to a point when they’re stagnant, not really knowing what to do… ” Get up and get out: words of wisdom from an emcee who truly understands the power of doing.
