G.I. Graffiti

Soldiers overseas have been tagging every wall from Baghdad to Karbala, during their down time in Iraq.

Some are concerned with not the artistic expression but the content of some  of the graffiti splattered on walls that seem to be gang related.  With GDN (Gangster Disciple Nation) tags being sited all over Baghdad and barricades and bathroom walls, investigations have been done and they’ve revealed that over 300 active armed soldiers are known gang members.

With that said graffiti is not just some tool used by thugs to repp their crew while their overseas serving the country but it is a tool that’s been used since WWII as an expression of American culture.  The site tutztutz.com has a great article on gangs, graffiti & guerrilla warfare, you can peep it here.
